The poet, using the female factor – Aphrodite – as a main topic, skillfully depicts and describes the natural pursuit of a female –beauty – feelings of love and natural attraction, acquisition and rejection, happiness and fulfillment changed into distress, frustration and pain from denial of achievement; he therefore, relates the continuous struggle of life, the pursue of beauty and love, of survival and serenity, while he describes awe for the bright sunset and fears the dark of the night to come. In autumn he cries for winter, which will come bitter, but he is also well aware that a blooming spring will follow, and in summer the sun will shine bright and hot; that after the dark night a new dawn will bring a bright sunrise. He thus praises the power of nature. So, the beautiful tormented island of Aphrodite struggles in the rough sea, heading towards the rainbow. Is it ever going to reach it? The rainbow, itself, brings hope and promises peace!
